These case studies were developed
as teaching tools by Insead, a leading European Business school. They
are designed to outline a organisational situation or challenge and be
a basis for discussion of possible approaches and solutions. Some of
the key themes of UNJLC's work that Insead discusses are
coordination - when is it advantageous, and how can you do it
humanitarian logistics - it's role and function, how is it different from normal logistics
humanitarian aid
working in austere and conflict situations
interagency collaborations and organisations as joint ventures - how and when might they be useful or successful
It is vital to note that these case studies are not evaluations,
but are designed to hilight certain points of interest to INSEAD. They
are not necessarily complete or fully accurate representations of the
situations described and certainly do not fully explore the role or
results of UNJLC operations or those of other humanitarian actors.
