Executive summary

  • In April, 6,616 households were served with non-food items (NFIs) from the NFI Common Pipeline in Darfur, bringing the total of beneficiaries served in 2008 to-date to 88,588 households. To these households, 54,059 items were distributed, making the total number of items 645,351 year-to-date.
  • The NFI Common Pipeline has received a CERF grant of $445,785, which will be used for the procurement of stocks for emergency response in West Darfur. US$2.5 million is still urgently needed for the procurement of plastic sheeting.   • The NFI Common Pipeline Guiding Principles were officially endorsed by the NFI Common Pipeline Advisory Panel during the Panel Meeting on May 1st and is being distributed to partners for feedback. The Guiding Principles document is designed to be an over-arching guide and resource for all partners. Copies available from UNJLC at sudan@unjlc.org.
