Darfur: NFI and Emergecy Shelter Sector Update- November /December 2007

The 2008 UN & Partners Work Plan was finalized and officially launched in early December. The NFI & ES Sector had 23 project sheets included for the Darfur region.

  • Approximately 2.6 million items were distributed through the Darfur Common Pipeline in 2007. Blankets, sleeping mats
    and jerry cans were the most distributed items, each with approximately 600,000 units distributed.
  • Starting 2008, UNJLC is requiring all partners to submit 2-month assessment and distribution plans at the start of each
    month. The goal of this planning effort is to enhance planning and coordination.
  • CARE will be resuming responsibility for all monitoring and evaluation activities
