Highlights

Flooding: Following flooding in Khartoum, White Nile, Blue NIle, Kassala, Red Sea and North Kordofan States during July and August, non-food items (NFIs) were provided to 35,000 families through the Rest of Sudan (ROS) NFI Common Pipeline in conjunction with local authorities.  While the peak flood season is generally mid-July to end of Augsut, the rains are expected to last through September.  Weekly sector updates released by UNJLC during the flood response can be found at www.unjlc.org

2008 Work Plan: Draft sector plans for the five Work Plan regions of ROS have now been developed.  Agencies are reminded to submit project sheets to UNJLC by the end of September for review.
