- On 29 May, UNJLC, with the kind assistance of UNMIS, announced an air cargo transport service from Khartoum to Wau to assist in providing relief items for the current Abyei crisis. A total of three air movements are scheduled between next Sunday, 1 June, and Thursday, 12th of June; each movement with a maximum capacity of 20 tonnes, providing for 60 tonnes over the course of the two weeks. Onward transportation or storage from Wau airport will require further coordination from the user with the UNJLC/IOM team on the ground. Interested parties are invited to contact sudan@unjlc.org for additional information.
- Distributions of NFIs to five locations in and around Agok were completed on 28 May: 2,000 households at the Agok airstrip, 1,000 households in Manding Jok, 1,450 households in Malual Aleu from ICRC, 1,000 households in Wauchin, and 1,000 households in Joljok.
- Heavy rains in Agok for the last five days have been reported by OCHA on 29 May. The rains are making implementation of distributions difficult and have also made the Agok airstrip unlandable. Flights are advised to divert to Turelei or Wunrok until further notice.
