ROAD UPDATE - Traffic into Juba


SECURITY ADVISORY:

All roads within the following boundaries have been placed under UN
Security Level 4 (RED NO GO) with immediate effect: Line  Juba  Bridge  -
Mongala  -  Lafon  - Torit - Amatong - Katire - Kit - Lobonok - Juba
Bridge.

Nimule - Juba:
   Contractor has completed road rehabilitation work up to 150km from
   Nimule.  The road is passable all the way to Juba. However, the Kit
   River Bridge is in need of urgent repair.  Further, WFP road works have
   been halted along this route due to insecurity.

Loki-Torit-Juba:
   WFP has a maintenance contract starting Dec 1st from Nadapal to Kapoeta.
   WFP road repairs from Narus to Torit have been completed.  The road
   contractor is continuing to complete the road from Torit to Juba.  Spot
   repairs have been carried out in other areas to Juba by an oil company -
   ASCOM.
   All WFP projects have been halted due to insecurity.

Kaya - Yei  -  Juba:
   This is open and operating normally. Traffic is flowing on the Kaya -
   Yei road.
   2 of the damaged culverts supporting the Juba Bridge have been repaired.
   The 3rd and last culvert repair is expected to begin tomorrow.
   (Kaya - Yei Road = Security Level 2,Permissive)
