Incoming Items: There are currently no plans to purchase sanitary items in 2007. Soap and mosquito nets will remain under control of UNICEF-Darfur. The NFI common pipeline is currently experiencing a great shortage of women's clothing (toaps).
For winter/cold snap needs, please contact the UNJLC field offices for the distribution of blankets. UNJLC advises to do this before the holiday season starts.
Currently no news on Ed Daein (South Darfur) with possibly 20.000 displaced people. Assessment is underway.
There is new funding being requested for the common pipeline. More information will follow.

NFI Monitoring and Evaluation: The CARE monitoring and evaluation report (October) will be available on the UNJLC website shortly. The conclusions are with CARE already.
For the NFI assessment CARE has trained NGO staff involved in NFI distribution. This took place already in West and North Darfur, South Darfur is to follow in the coming week.

Warehousing: CARE is cutting back from 3 warehouses to 2 in Nyala, the other warehouse facilities will be unchanged. CARE assured there is enough capacity for emergency response stock for 100.000 households. The exact locations for the emergency response stock have to be decided.

Rest of Sudan (RoS)

Returnees: The registration campaign for returnees began in Khartoum on Sunday 19th November and the moving of returnees from Khartoum within the Blue Nile area is expected to start mid December onwards. The Coordinator for Organised Returns is Patrick Baudry (patrick.baudry@wfp.org or 0912168458).
For the GOS/ GOSS/ UN- organised returnees there will be NFI kits available. The NFI Coordinator for the Rest of Sudan is Sarah McNiece, (sarah.mcniece@wfp.org or 0912170728). UNICEF will soon hand over the NFI stocks to UNJLC management/ coordination.
