Bulletin 97-March 2008

Document Actions

Highlights

  • UNHAS announced that all organizations with outstanding TAF account balances will be restricted from using UNHAS services in the future, if the balances are not settled by April 30th, 2008.
  • April 27th and 28th UNHAS flights are cancelled in observation of holidays. This affects all North Sudan flights and flights between North and South Sudan. It does not affect internal South Sudan flights.
  • Updated UNHAS flight schedules were announced for Khartoum, South Darfur, West Darfur, and South Sudan, effective April 1st, and North Darfur, effective April 12th.
  • UNJLC published a rapid assessment which reviewed the viability of land transport alternatives to current UNHAS helicopter destinations in Darfur. The results confirmed the necessity of on-going helicopter service as it is the only means of currently accessing certain areas and ensuring access in an unpredictable security
    environment.
  • UNJLC is coordinating a light vehicle convoy for mid- May to the Darfur state capitals. The deadline for submission of booking requests is April 28th.
