Latest monitoring Updates 09 October 2007
• On 8th October 2007 the Logistics team on the ground reported that Aguu Bridge reported by UNDSS broken as of today morning completely out of use by any vehicle. All road users advised to go to Soroti via Lira town.
Government response / Road / Survey/ Access
• Lira - Pader - Kitgum route: Urgent intervention needed. Five locations are still isolated in Kitgum.
• s along the Komolo to Katakwi: about 4-5 more days to go before opening up the road section to traffic.
• Tentative report indicate massive repairs required to open up the road to Kitgum via Palaro
• River Aswa water receded to about 40cm below the bridge
• About 50 concrete slabs required replacing the broken and missing ones and wait for clearance from Gulu works dept to open up road for all traffic.
