Latest monitoring Updates 5th October 2007
• On 4th October 2007 IFRC launched an update on the Floods Emergency Appeal for Uganda highlighting that the main challenges remain access to the most affected communities, and the unpredictable weather which will continue to hamper longer-term recovery and rehabilitation until the end of the rainy season – as communities struggle to cope with the damp and unhygienic conditions.
• On 4th October the Logistics team on the ground reported that Ministry of Works continued for the 3rd day making effort to filling low sports and replacing washed culverts on Komolo to Katakwi swamp to ease the dammed water on the upper part of the river.
• Aguu Bridge is reported flooded 20-25cm above the river.
• A Northern Uganda Floods - Distance and Travel Time Matrix has been produced and will be uploaded on the Logistics cluster webpage: http://www.logcluster.org/uganda-floods
