1. HIGHLIGHTS
- The Yangon logistics cluster meeting took place today. 32 participants from 28 different organizations attended the meeting.
- The second barge rented for the interagency use has been loaded this afternoon in Yangon and will depart for Labutta.
2. CLUSTER ACTIVITIES UPDATES
- The BKK staging area will have one area for items procured in Thailand and one for cargo in transit to Myanmar. Further details on how to use the staging area will be shared shortly. For users that have questions regarding this service, please contact the Logistics Cluster cell in Bangkok.

3. AIR OPERATIONS
- Updated information on cargo flights arriving in Myanmar is being compiled on a daily basis in the air operations report and made available on the cluster webpage. The logistics cluster appreciates the effort of the partners and is asking participants to continue to compile the suggested format (available on the web) and to provide related information.
- As per traffic control information, 13 flights were planned to come in today: 11 from bilateral cooperation (5 US AIR FORCE) and 2 for UN.
4. WATER TRANSPORT
- The second barge rented for inter-agency use has been loaded this afternoon at the MITT terminal at Yangon port to departure for Labutta. The barge has been loaded with WFP and Merlin cargo:
WFP 700 mt of food
MERLIN 24.5 mt of NFIs
Total 724.5 mt
5. NEXT LOGISTICS CLUSTER MEETING
- The next meeting of the BKK Logistics Cluster will be Wednesday 21st May 2008 at 1100 hrs.
- The next meeting of the Yangon Logistics Cluster will be held Friday 23rd May 2008 at 1400 hrs.
