LRT deployment:

  • The 3 members from the LRT arrived in BKK this morning  (Logistics and UNJLC)
  • A Logistics Cluster Meeting is schedulled  tomorrow in WFP Bangkok 13,00 local time

Logistics update (OCHA)

General

  • Estimations are of around 1,000.000 people affected however assessments are still on going
  • The area affected is quite densely populated and OCHA is estimating 90/95% of houses destroyed with figures of death poeple  are expected to rise
  • Expected area of 5,000 skm is underwater
  • Current Priorities: Plastic sheeting, shelter basic kits , water mosquito nets basic health kits, emergency food

Supply Chain

  • So far the aid coming in has been bilateral from GOV to GOV

Roads Transport

  • Access are reported to be difficult with roads blocked
  • It is estimated to  take at least one day form Yangoon to reach the  delta area.

Sea and Rivers Transport

  • Yangoon port still closed
  • Boats fleet would have been damaged or destroyed

Air Transport

  • No landing options for helicopters are available at the moment

Communication & Various

  • Communications infrastructure is supposed to be down
  • No electricity available in Yangooon
