• On 15th January, All Africa Global Media reported that the outbreak of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) poses a serious threat to regional food security, as warned by USAID. The agency says if the fever‘s control fail and it spreads into the Juba valley, the risk of regional disease outbreak is very high. The situation has been further complicated by the Somalia crisis, which has caused movement of people and livestock.
