- On 19th December IRIN is reporting that in the area of Kaga Bandoro the burning and looting of villages has scattered thousands of civilians from their home while the rebels and the army blame each other for aggravating the situation.
- Local civilian said they have been targeted because the government acuuses them of harboring fighters of l' Armee populaire pour la restauration de la republique e la democratie (APRD)
- The government has accused Patasse, of supporting the rebels with the backing of neighboring Chad.
