Joint Supply Tracking System (JST)
The Joint Supply Tracking (JST) is a commodity tracking system for coordination purpose. It implies recording of Cargo Movement Request (CMR) and, if needed cargo movement prioritisation. It serves a key purpose in UNJLC’s and Logistics Clusters activities in regards of tracking relief commodities dispatched through a Common Transport service within a humanitarian crisis operation.
It can be described as Joint Supply Tracking: per se when Logistics Common services are used to move supplies, on behalf of the Humanitarian Community, from different Entry Points to Extended Points of delivery
The core of the JST overall process and tool is the tracking of Supplies made available to the humanitarian community trough “Common Transport Service. It does not track supplies outside the scope of a common transport.
The overall system process can be described as follow: each recognised Cargo Loading Points (CLPs) process their request and dispatch information for commodities passing through their location.
On a daily basis, or when feasible, each CLP sends out their field data report to a pre-defined central data consolidation point. Once consolidated the information is sent back to each location.
Overall JST reports can be generated as well as specific products such as maps or organisation perspective reports.
JST REPORTS:
Global Coordination (global supplies picture)
Individual users purpose (on going feedback and delivered supplies overview)
Ad-hoc: including customised reports with diagrams and maps, on request
JST TASKS:
Registration of cargo movement request (CMR)
Prioritization of Cargo (if needed), according to priorities given by HC
Planning: document produced to facilitate the use of common transport assets
