The following procedures for registering vehicles were collated by UNJLC Indonesia based on information provided in Banda Aceh by the relevant government authorities during the period March 10-22, 2005. (Updated and re-checked May 3-6, 2005).
VEHICLES REGISTER
ENGLISH PROCEDURES FOR IMPORTED VEHICLE REGISTRATION AT ACEH PROVINCIAL POLICE STATION
- Prepare Vehicle Certificate, Insurance Certificate, Letter Explaining the Organization/Agency’s Activity and attach them to the Application Letter (see page 2). All of these need to be done in BAHASA INDONESIA.
- All documents are to be submitted to Mr. Mulyatno, at Aceh Provincial Police (POLDA).
- KAPOLDA (Chief of Police) will give a disposition letter that is addressed to SAMSAT. Contact Person at SAMSAT : Mr. Isfar M (0811 681 322)
- Administration Fee: IDR 50.000,- per vehicle per 3 months.
- Cost of Making License Plate: IDR 25.000,- per vehicle.
- Payment is to be made at the SAMSAT Office
- The process takes approximately 2 (two) working days.

BAHASA INDONESIA PROSEDUR REGISTRASI KENDARAAN YANG DIIMPOR DI POLDA NAD
- Siapkan Vehicle Certificate, Sertifikat Asuransi, Surat Pengantar Kegiatan Organisasi dan dilampirkan bersama surat permohonan (lihat hal. 2)
- Semua dokumen diserahkan pada Bapak Mulyatno, di POLDA NA
- KAPOLDA akan memberikan Surat Keterangan yang akan ditujukan pada SAMSAT. Kontak Person di SAMSAT: Bapak Isfar M (0811 681 322)
- Biaya Administrasi: Rp. 50.000,-/kendaraan untuk 3 bula
- Biaya Pembuatan Plat Nomor: Rp. 25.000,-/kendaraan
- Pembayaran dilakukan di kantor SAMSAT
- Proses keseluruhan memakan waktu selama 2 hari
