Recommendation
  • The road from Kahutta to Haji Pir is passable in good weather if care is taken. Trucks should limit load to 5 MT max.
  • Through January - March areas closer to Haji Pir (N 33° 91651'; E 073° 95977') will be subject to heavy snow and ice, rendering this road impassable and/or no-go due to hazards.
  • Travel on this entire route requires MOSS compliant vehicles, snow chains and an experienced driver.

Forward Kahutta to Lasdanna via Haji Pir

Forward Kahutta - Haji Pir. Distance from origin 25.8 km bearing N/NE. (N 33° 96358'; E073°0 6956').

  • Elevation 2610 metres.
  • Road is circuitous and narrow the entire distance. Ascent is steep, limiting truck load capacity.
  • Frequent causeways, which will ice readily, making the surface dangerous for all but 4WD vehicles.
  • Road surface ranges from metal through dirt and  rubble. Single lane in many sections.  Corners are tight, requiring  3 point or more turns for and more turns for 10 MT trucks.


  • River crossing (N 33° 90376' E 074° 10924') in lieu of a bridge. Water already passing swiftly across the river bed. This point will be impassable during spring flooding. 
  • Rock slides possible throughout route. Heavy snow and ice will render this route impassable around Haji Pir through winter. 
  • Final 1 km from Bhedi/Lasdanna corner (N 33° 95439'  E 074° 06541') to Haji Pir town is 4WD only.


Haji Pir - Lasdanna. Distance from origin 16.87 km (N 33° 91651'; E 073° 95977') bearing W/SW.

  • Tenuous road edges in sections. Large rocks/boulders overhanging many sections. Rock slide potential throughout route.
  • Ice and snow on road at time of assessment. 4WD only in inclement weather. This road will be impassable for all vehicles after heavy snow.
