UNJLC Pakistan
UNJLC’s mandate is to assist the humanitarian community in matters relating to the logistics of the relief operation.
Given the transition to recovery activities, UNJLC HAS CEASED OPERATIONS ON THE 30TH OF JUNE. A presence will be maintained in Islamabad until the 31st of July.
UNJLC’s services throughout the operation have included cargo transport for agencies and NGOs (through the UNJLC cargo movement request program), assistance with customs and immigration, the assessment of logistics infrastructure (including fuel capacity, road issues and warehousing), the collation of pipeline information to serve cargo transport planning and help identify gaps in distribution, the collation and dissemination of all logistics-related information pertaining to the relief effort, and the production of maps focusing on the logistics of the affected area.

Our office remains an open centre of Logistics Information Products for the humanitarian community responding to the South Asian (Pakistan) earthquake. Residual stocks of hard copy maps can be collected until the 15th of July.
The UNJLC website will remain active as an archive of logistics information.

| The United Nations Joint Logistics Center (UNJLC) is an inter-agency facility reporting to the Humanitarian Co-ordinator within complex Humanitarian crisis, and overall to the Inter-Agency Standing Committee. Its mandate is to co-ordinate and optimise the logistics capabilities of humanitarian organisations in large-scale emergencies. UNJLC operates under the custodianship of WFP who are responsible for the administrative and financial management of the Centre. UNJLC is funded from voluntary contributions channelled through WFP. |
