General transports corridors overview
From Beira (20,000+ MT storage available):
- The main road to Caia will remain transitable by road. Food should be prepositioned in Caia and from there secondary transport by heli, boat or road (6X6 or 4X4 trucks) to the final destination as per information below.
- To Marromeu, passable via Gorongosa (via Centro/Nordeste) by road. There is an alternative route via Muanza, but not recommended for trucks.
- To Tambara, the road is passable untill Muira River. From there air bridge to Nhacafula and Tambara Sede.
From Caia (450 MT food storage, approx. 1000 MT NFI storage available):
- To Chinde, Matilde, Mopeia, Chemba, Luabo, Chiramba and probably Tambara to monitor the situation. - by air
- To Murrasa the road will be passable by 6X6 trucks. - by road
- To Sena, communication with Post Administrative of Sena is interrupted (small bridges washed away). - by air
- To Mutarara. The road access is cut-off from Sena. Isolated from the rest of the country. by air. The road access to Post Administrative of Inhangoma is cut-off, but could be reached by boat.
From Chupanga, Marromeu (450 MT storage available):
- To Malingapanse either to move food or to evacuate people to a secure area (accommodation center) because access to Malingapansi will be completely cut-off. - by air
- To Marromeu either to monitor the situtation or to move food in case of high intensity/progressive rains. - by air. But there will be limited access to Marromeu Sede by road (6X6 trucks).
From Marromeu Sede:
- To Malingapansi because access to Malingapansi will be completely cut-off. - by air
- To Luabo, Matilde and Chinde either to move food or to evacuate people to a secure area and also monitor the situation. Low land areas get flooded, including roads and fields - Both of them, by boat or air depending on the field situation.
- Evacuations by Companhia da Sena (2 boats) from Malingapanse and Marromeu to Chupanga
From Tete:
- To Bawa (by car via Zimbabwe, which is opposite side of Zumbo Sede) and travel by boat up to Zumbo
- From Feira, Zambia to Zumbo by air
