  1. All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the attached Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org
  2. All humanitarian actors are invited to share information on their relief cargo pipeline and issues.
  • Logistics Support:

  2. Transportation - Any transport requirements for the next weeks should be advised not later than Monday, 2 September 2006 - CMRs should be sent at least 48 hours in advance as trucks now are organized directly from Beirut.

NGO Updates and Issues

IMC:
Nothing new to report.

THW ((Technisches Hilfswerk = German Governmental disaster relief organization):
Requested assistance to transport their container (5m x 2.3m x 2.05m) from Tyre back to Beirut.

CARE:
Awaiting locally procured NFI for 2000 families to get ready for transportation ex Beirut. CARE is planning to request transport assistance ex Beirut to final destination around mid October. CARE will liaise with Premiere Urgence for targeting of families

Agencies Updates and Issues

UNMACC:
Pehr Lodhammar, UNMACC, will join the logistics cluster meeting on Friday to answer questions regarding the possibility of warehousing space and/or other issues arising after the expected handover of WFP/Logistics cluster premises to UNMACC.

UNJLC:
Otto Bijleveld, UNJLC, has moved to Tyre to replace Paal Jannang for UNJLC representation in Tyre. He is currently finishing and cleaning up the Joint Supply Tracker (JST) database entries.

WHO:
The country rep is in Tyre to finalize future WHO projects and presence.

WFP:
All infrastructure is expected to be handed over to UNMACC (mobile storage tents, ICT equipment, prefab containers,...), still in process to finalize details and date. WFP will possibly downsize drastically by the end of next week.

Planned Dispatched ex Tyre:

No CMRs/requests received yet. UNICEF, WHO and HWA should send their CMRs as soon as they can in order to organize the transport from Tyre.
