Meeting Minutes - 25 September 2006

The next meeting will take place Wednesday 27 September @ 09.00HRS at the UNMACC annex in new meeting tent opposite containers. The logistic cluster meets 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9h00am.

  1. All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the attached Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org

NGO Updates and Issues

IOM:
WFP/Logistics Cluster collected their 10 tents from Marquaba and delivered 3 in Nabatiye and 7 into stock in Tyre.

IMC:
Nothing to report. Mustapha Elrahi just arrived 2 days ago. He will be in charge of the logistics in Tyre. General  information on the logistics cluster was provided.

SRSA:
The entire SRSA team as well as the 4 Scania trucks have left Tyre on Sunday and are on the way back to Sweden.

THW ((Technisches Hilfswerk = German Governmental disaster relief organization):
They will close down their activities on the 17/10/06. The responsible has requested assistance to transport their container from Tyre back to Beirut. They will provide us details (size, weight, etc..) in order to organize the transport from here (Possible requirements are crane and truck with fold-down sides/flat decks).

Agencies Updates and Issues

UNHCR:
Will receive the last stock of NFI from Beirut today
All NFI distribution will be done on Thursday 28.09.06.
Steen Hollesen, Logistics Officer, is leaving Tyre on the 28.09.06
The 3 rub-halls will be dismantled and shipped back to Dubai within the next 2 weeks
They are still considering CARE's request for NFI.

Stock: NTR

UNJLC:
Gathering information regarding the port facilities and infrastructure. Information should be available already. WFP will provide the Logistics Capacity Asssessment,done 2003 including the updated information gathered during the last weeks.

WHO:
They have requested 1 armoured vehicle for Tuesday and Wednesday => WFP can provide one AV on Wednesday (the 2 AV are fully booked for Tuesday => monitoring).

UNICEF:
Not present. NTR

WFP:
SRSA trucks left Tyre on Sunday 24 September
Any Transport request should be plan at least 48 hours in advance as we do have to request the trucks from Beirut.
Stored 7 tents for IOM.
Will hand over to UNMACC all infrastructure of current set-up (rub-halls, ICT equipment, containers,...), still in process to finalize details and date.
Will invite an UNMACC representative to the next meeting.

Planned Dispatched ex Tyre:

Nothing yet planned. However, IOM, WHO and HWA should send us their CMRs as soon as they can in order to organize the transport from Tyre.
