Action Points
- All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org
- All humanitarian actors are invited to share information on their relief cargo pipeline.
- Any feedback/follow up on cargo movements can be addressed directly through UNJLC.
Operational Update & Cargo Movement
- The warehouses must be vacated shortly. As part of the closure process, WFP intends to dismantle the mobile storage facilities by 15 October and vacate the area by 24 October. This also applies to the UNICEF owned warehouse that WFP erected.
- UNICEF will be providing an additional distribution plan with confirmed quantities and arrival date for its Back to School programme items, water and other relief supplies in the coming days.
- The Logistics Cluster Questionnaire was sent out from Tyre to obtain feedback and issues on the Cluster in Lebanon. This Questionnaire will also be sent to the participants to this meeting. WFP would be grateful for the eventual feedback of the clients of the cluster as this will allow the upcoming Global Logistics Cluster meeting, which will take place between 5 and 6 October in Rome, Italy to take these comments into account.
- The logistics hub in Tyre will be closing at the end of next week. There is almost no remaining cargo and remaining items can be sent from Beirut directly. During the previous week, 2 trucks were contracted to transport items from Tyre. The trucks were only used for 2 days. The 4 SRSA trucks and the mobile workshop, that had been retained in Tyre, are back in Beirut and will be shipped back to Sweden shortly.
