Meeting Minutes - 11 September 2006
Action Points
- All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org
- All humanitarian actors are invited to share information on their relief cargo pipeline.
- Any feedback/follow up on cargo movements can be addressed directly through UNJLC.
Operational Update
- Since the lifting of the blockade and the conversion to commercial trucks without convoy escorts, notifications on any cargo movement are no longer required.
- WFP confirmed that trucking from Syria to Lebanon is continuing.
Ship Movement
- The following are the movements of the WFP-contracted vessels:
Thursday, 7 September
Roro vessel, Anamcara, arrived during the weekend carrying mainly WFP food. It has already proceeded to Limassol, where it is currently loading. It will return to Beirut on 12.09 for a final offloading of relief supplies.
Other Issues
- WFP has proposed that on Thursday, 14 September, the frequency of the Logistics Cluster meetings is discussed. Potentially, the meetings can be reduced to once a week.
- UNJLC held a meeting with the Lebanese High Relief Commission (HRC) to discuss their requirement for a Supply Tracking Application and mapping of distributions by local NGOs. Ultimately, the HRC would like to identify what has been imported and distributed in Lebanon.
