- All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org
- All humanitarian actors are invited to share information on their relief cargo pipeline.
- Any feedback/follow up on cargo movements can be addressed directly through UNJLC.
Operational Update & Cargo Movement
- It was announced on 06.09 that the blockade will be lifted on 07.09 at 18:00.
- The following commercial trucks without convoy escorts will proceed:

Ship Movement
- The following are the movements of the WFP-contracted vessels:
Thursday, 7 September
Roro vessel, Anamcara, will be proceeding from Mersin to Beirut on 08.09. The vessel will then depart to Limassol on 10.09 to pick up cargo for CRS. It was suggested that other agencies load any other cargo they may have in Limassol. In addition, WFP has food commodities in Mersin. Other agencies may also load any cargo in Mersin.
Other Non-UN/Lebanese Government vessels where WFP facilitated the notification process
MV Zhen Hua 9 arrived in Beirut Port on 05.09 and is currently discharging cranes.
M/V Antwerp Max arrived in Beirut Port on 06.09 and is currently discharging corn.
Air Movement
- UNJLC confirmed that the German Airforce Transal aircrafts will stop functioning on 8th September, although the aircrafts are available for any further humanitarian cargo requests.
- Flight CKS545 arrived from New York to Beirut at 09:00 and is expected to proceed to Adana Sakirpasa (Turkey) at 14:00.
Other Issues
- As a result of the lifting of the blockade, massive congestion is expected in the ports and airports due to the arrival of commercial traffic. 60,000 containers were already waiting for the lifting of the blockade. This may raise loading problems for the Logistics Cluster.
- WFP has raised the question of how long the Logistics Cluster would be required. UNICEF confirmed that they require the Cluster until the end of October 2006.
- The question of whether UNJLC would be required beyond 24 October was raised. UNJLC indicated that this issue would be discussed bilaterally with the relevant agencies including WFP, UNICEF and WHO.
- It is agreed that the new time for the Logistics Cluster Meetings in Beirut is 9 am on Mondays and Thursdays.
