UNICEF indicated that 5 trucks would be required to carry water for Marjayoun on Tuesday, 22 August.
WHO stated that 1 truck would be required to carry medicine for Tyre on Tuesday, 22 August.
UNICEF confirmed that a plane would be arriving in Syria with recreation kits and a mobile storage facility. A convoy would be required soon to transport the items. The documentation will be provided shortly.

Ship Movement

  • The following are the movements of the WFP-contracted vessels in Lebanon:
    Sunday, 20 August
Turkish vessel, Kazim Genc, has completed offloading and departed in the morning.

Other vessels where WFP facilitated the notification process
French vessel, Cap Camarat, which arrived on 17.08, is offloading
Government of Lebanon (GoL) vessel, Gulf Nomad, arrived with fuel in Beirut on 17.08 and is offloading
GoL-vessel, West Point, arrived with fuel in Tripoli on 17.08 and is offloading
Italian vessel, San Marco, is arriving at 11 am with WHO and WFP relief supplies
  • The Roro vessel, Anamcara, will proceed to Beirut on 21 August. The manifest has been received. UN agencies and NGOs have not presented any portion of their cargo for offloading in Tyre.

Other Issues

  • Progress in setting up a logistics hub in Tyre is proceeding smoothly. The set up of the 3 mobile storage facilities that will support 1,800 mt of items will be completed tomorrow.
  • As indicated previously, the trial mission to Masnaa border crossing was successful in terms of transportation time, yet various issues were faced with customs clearances on the Syrian side of the border.
  • Ministry of Finance is reworking the customs clearance procedures for UN agencies and NGOs. The procedures have not yet been finalized. In terms of the Cluster, if commodities are arriving through WFP-contracted transport, WFP can carry out the customs clearance. If the commodities are arriving independently, UN agencies will go through the Lebanese Higher Relief Commission (HRC) and NGOs will go through the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) for customs clearances.
