Action Points

1.       All humanitarian actors requiring cargo movement should use the attached Cargo Movement Request form and send to UNJLC at lebanon.cargo@unjlc.org

2.       All humanitarian actors are invited to share information on their relief cargo pipeline.

3.       Any feedback/follow up on cargo movements can be addressed directly through UNJLC.

 

Operational Update & Convoy Movement

  • Notifications on convoy movement will continue but no concurrence will be sought any longer. The WFP Jerusalem was informed and indicated that there was no objection. The following convoys will proceed today:

Monday, 14 August

Hasbaya - Cargo - Land: 15 trucks for WFP and 4 trucks for UNICEF

Hasbaya - Road assessment

Saida - Staff - Land: UNDSS

Tripoli - Cargo - Land:1 reefer for UNICEF and 3 x 40 MT trucks

Tyre - Staff - Land: To set up the hub/office

Rmeish/Debel - Cargo - Land (left on 13.08, overnight in Tyre): 4 trucks for UNICEF and 11 trucks for WFP

Tyre - Cargo - Land (left on 13.08, overnight in Tyre): 7 trucks for WFP, 1 truck for UNFPA and WHO, 1 truck for HEB WFP/NPA

Rmeich - Staff - Road assessment (left on 13.08, overnight in Tyre)

Aarida - Staff - Land

All agencies and NGOs were requested to provide an indication on their planned convoys over the coming days. Planned convoys:

Ship Movement

  • The WFP-contracted Turkish (Kazim Genc) and the Roro (Anamcara) vessels have docked and are currently offloading. The Roro will proceed to Tyre tomorrow and all agencies and NGOs are requested to present their CMRs to UNJLC by this afternoon.

           

Fuel

  • On the Roro vessel, there is in fact 230 MT of diesel. An agreement is currently being finalized for storage in Beirut.
  • An agreement with WHO on the deliveries of diesel oil for various hospitals must be finalized.

           

Other Issues

  • The Standard Operating Procedure for the Logistics Cluster is being re-drafted to better reflect reality.
  • UNICEF proposed adding another CLP, namely Mersin (Turkey). The current CLPs are Limassol, Aarida and Beirut. WFP is proposing to add Tyre. The delivery points will remain Zahle, Tyre, Beirut and Nabatiyeh.
