Introduction - General

Customs clearance (Import/transit/export) of goods in Iran should be processed by authorized forwarding agents.
There are Iranian and international agents available to perform the customs clearance procedures. The clearing agent needs an official approval letter from the donors (UN, NGOs, IOs) for each consignment, stating that they will act on behalf of the donors to carry out customs formalities.

Locations: The customs authorities and forwarding agents are situated in all major cities like Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Ahwaz, etc and border crossing points Khosravi, Bashmegh and Hajji Umran.

Restrictions: Apart from goods originated from Israel, all humanitarian goods may be imported/transited/exported to Iran from any Country.

Customs duties/taxes: All humanitarian relief consignments are exempted from customs duties/taxes/fees in Iran. For areas under the control of the allied troops, it has been communicated by the HOC in Kuwait that no plans exist to levy any fees to taxes for humanitarian relief commodities imported into Iraq.

Forwarding agents could give valuable information on customs regulations and procedures.

Further details on the procedures, taxes/duty/fees and required paper work for import/export/transit is available in the complete document
