General Info:
Formalities for crossing have to be finalised in Mehran town at the Governor's office. The EP at Mehran has only recently been recognised as an operational EP by the GIRI. Despite the 1 km stretch of no-mans-land and absence of customs faculties, the location has the advantage of being the closest EP to Baghdad and a direct link to Al-Kut and Karbala towns. On the Iranian side it can be easily accessed from Kermanshah.

| Estimated Clearance Time | For customs formalities before approaching the border may require up to 72 hours. With appropiate clearance and documentation it takes approx. 1 hour to cross the border. |
