Iraq Infrastructure Ports phase 1
The main ports of entry into Iraq all occur in the south of the country and include
- Umm Qasr (or Um Qasr)
- Basrah
UNJLC has maintained a particular page on Umm Qasr which is complemented by the Barwil port updates and newsletter.
In January 2004, UNJLC as collected and compiled information on port charges in Iraq and selected neighbouring countries.
SSA Marine reported that more containers were handled via Umm Qasr than Aqaba in the final months of 2003
