Big Brands Preparing Iraq Market Entrance

Traders expect the Iraqi market to absorb 30,000 m³ of electronic goods in the year 2004. So far less known brands are predominant but the main brand distributors might gain approximately half of the market this year.

Trading companies in the region have been preparing to enter the Iraqi market since the middle of 2003. As the process of opening up the market has been slower than anticipated many companies have had excess stocks of two months during the second half of 2003. However, in light of increasing demand and growing optimism for 2004 a growing number of traders are expected to enter the Iraqi market in the coming months.
