Important notice to all potential donors
FLASH APPEAL 2005 FOR INDIAN OCEAN EARTHQUAKE - TSUNAMI
While all offers of assistance are valued, key UN agencies involved in the relief effort have already established supply chains. The most urgent immediate need is for cash donations. You are urged to donate cash to the Consolidated Appeals Process (CAP): Flash Appeal 2005 for Indian Ocean Earthquake - Tsunami.

IN-KIND DONATIONS
Organisations and individuals considering making in-kind donations should be aware that relief organisations rely on voluntary contributions and donations of cash, commodities and services.
Relief organisations have mostly limited funds available to purchase goods or services that facilitate the freight and delivery of in-kind donations. In most circumstances, any serious offer of in-kind donations must be free of cost or obligation to the recipient organisation.
Due to the urgency of the emergency, the scale of the relief effort, and the number of offers, UNJLC is unable to respond to every offer individually. In order to quickly process new offers and/or donations, organisations are requested to email donations@unjlc.org detailing their offer.
OFFERS OF ASSISTANCE: Email format
Please use the following format when making your offer:
In the subject line of your email:
[Country of origin] - [nature of in-kind support] - [Country/region of destination] - [Company name]
for example: Subject: Australia - 1000 plastic buckets - Phuket - Plastics Company P/L
ALL offers of support MUST also include the following details:
- Full Business Name of organisation
- Organisation street address, postal address and online address
- Full Name of responsible focal point AND alternate contact (ie. the person making the offer)
- All contact details for focal point AND alternate contact
- Short description of donation/offer - summarise in one short paragraph the location, nature, quantity, and availability of the support/assistance you are offering
- And an optional long description of donation/offer - include ALL details relevant to your offer, describing products, logistics, personnel, etc
- If you need to attach any images make sure they are JPG format and do not weigh more than 200k each.
