Warehousing is a probleme in HAITI due to security and capacity
In Port au Prince:
- A private complex called Shodecosa where all warehouses are already rented
- Another public complex near by the airport where the political situation do not permit to store humanitarian cargo due to security and political cissues.
- Possibility to deal with the Airport in case of emergency as they have large facilities previously used by UN missions.
Cap Haitien:
Has a limited storage capacity and private companies are not interested in having humanitarian cargo for security reason … Humanitarian cargo is quite considered as “Population cargo” – Warehouse are mainly at the port and some private. Most private warehouses are small and located in un-secure zones.
